RODRÍGUEZ-ABRUÑEIRAS, PAULA

Paula Rodríguez-Abruñeiras obtained an MA in English Language and Literature from the University of Santiago de Compostela in June 2006. In October of the same year she was admitted to the PhD Programme in English Linguistics, and in September 2008 she obtained a four-year FPU research grant from the Spanish Ministry for Education and Science, to prepare a PhD on the development and conventionalization of English appositive markers, under the supervision of María José López-Couso.

Paula has carried out research at the Department of English of the University of Helsinki (September 2007-May 2008), at the Department of Linguistics and English Language of the University of Manchester (September-November 2009), and at the Department of English of the University of Freiburg (September-December 2010). In November 2009 she received one of the annual awards granted to junior investigators by AEDEAN, the Spanish Association for Anglo-American Studies. Recently, she obtained an ESSE bursary, to carry out research at the British Library.
